Upcoming Executives!
One of the most difficult parts of reaching your goals or making positive change is pushing through discomfort. This is where a a lot of people give up - when the process inspires all kinds of challenging feelings. If you've quit your day job to pursue your passion and after six months you need to sell your car to keep going, a cubicle may appeal to you for the need of security. But maybe your will is strong enough to clear any emotional hurdles, but odds are that you have a voice inside your head saying "Go back. It's too hard. It's not worth it." Every one needs to remember that when your emotions get louder, challenge them with more emotions because that is exactly what all of our executives did and are continuing to do. Especially Micah Shaw, Morgan Couvillion, Kyle Redwine, and Ray Mallebay. These four executives pushed through the pain to build their success and we are waiting to see more growth that has to come with them being a part of our organization.

Executive of the Week!
Great job once again Mr. Cody Dominguez for being the top executive at Modern Marketing! Week after week, you have shown progress within yourself but also have helped others to see their own path of success.
Here are some quotes stated from top leaders in the world:
Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.
—Jack Welch
—Jack Welch
A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. —John Maxwell
Become the kind of leader that people would follow voluntarily; even if you had no title or position.
—Brian Tracy
—Brian Tracy
A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.

Daniel B. promoted to an ETT!
Daniel,
also known as “Damn Skippy Dan” by the office, started on April 27, 2015 and
just weeks later, he is celebrating his first of many promotions to come. When Dan
first came into our office, he told us that he wanted to do something with his
life because he “wanted to do things people wouldn’t be able to do.” It’s
amazing how dedication and drive works. When one’s mind is set to complete a
mission with their all, it will be completed. Today, we get to announce our
newest promotion to the Executive Trainer position. The best part about it was that he made it
seem so effortless and it was definitely not a surprised when one of his goals
was reached.
Modern
LLC is excited to see what’s to come with this young man in this upcoming year.

6 Things You Should Quit Doing to Be More Successful
As human beings, we often don’t realize the thing that we are doing that
causes us to become stagnant. Sometimes we blame everything else but ourselves
when we are not able to develop ourselves to our full potentials. There are 6 things that Forbes has stated that
we continue to do to ourselves that causes us to not be more successful than
what we should be.
Here are a couple of things that Forbes stated that we should quit doing:
Quit Stopping
-
“Remember why you started it, then push onward.
Because the more you stop and think about quitting, the longer it’ll take to
get to your desired result.”
Quit Saying Tomorrow
-
“Delaying or procrastinating around something
that you think is important means one of two things. You’re either scared to
start because it means your life will change or you want it for the wrong
reasons (i.e. someone else is encouraging you to do it).”
Quit Being a Victim
-
“Our social groups are great for complaining. We
all discuss our problems with our friends and that’s ok. But there are limits.
Everyone gets a few opportunities to complain about a particular hardship, but
if you seek advice and respond with “but I can’t” (said in whiny voice) too
many times, you officially become a victim. Eventually, you’ll have to ask
yourself whether you even want to fix the problem.”
Quit Saying Yes
-
“It could be you don’t need to entirely quit
saying yes. You may just need to analyze when you’re saying yes and what you’re
trading for it. You might find yourself saying yes to things you don’t even
care about and no to things that could make your life better in some way.”
Quit Expecting
-
“Your boss is like your significant other. Don’t
expect them to read your mind. They’ll only know what you need when you tell
them. If you really have your heart set on something (like a promotion), you
must be vocal about it. If you don’t speak up, you’re leaving the translation
up to them. Expect at your own risk.”
Quit Avoiding
-
“If we didn’t have
to work hard to reach success, we wouldn’t appreciate it. If there’s something
you’re putting off because it’s boring you, it’s hard, physically demanding or
tiring…just get up and get it done. Quit avoiding it. There will be rewards
along the way and there will be a great sense of accomplishment at the end.”

Office Night 4.30.2015
Pictured from Left to Right: Director – Dustin W., ETT –
Daumauria M.,
AE – Avery M., [our ETT Neika’s daughter], ETT – Cody D.,
Director – Rob H.
Yesterday we got the chance to network with a couple of the
directors who came up for their Directors Refreshers this week and it was also
our weekly family time also known as office night. The office ended up going to
our Director Dustin’s place for a small cook out with some brats and burgers, to
have a cupcake or two, watch the draft, and to play a game. The room was filled
with throwback stories, laughter, and great energy for a memorable night.
We got the chance to kick off the month of May by
celebrating a bonus, a promotion, and many birthdays. Daumauria, Avery, Neika’s
daughter, and Cody all enjoyed their birthday month kick off and their
chocolate cupcake. D had more than just his birthday on his mind; he
was extremely excited about his promotion. D is currently our newest Executive
Team Trainer here at Modern; that’s definitely not a bad birthday present. We
also got the chance to get some coaching advice from Rob who runs one of the
top organizations in our company, so we would say that Thursday wasn't a bad
day at all this week at the office.

Random Acts of Kindness
Meetings, conference calls and late nights in the office can lead to feelings of frustration and unkind words. A few simple acts of kindness can go a long way towards diffusing tensions and creating long-lasting friendships with the men and women you see every day.
Help a co-worker: If you know one of your co-workers has a huge work load or a major project to finish, offer to help. Offer to review and edit work they’ve already completed or offer to take some of the work off of their shoulders by running reports or finishing a presentation. The work will be finished faster and your co-worker will be grateful to have a little extra assistance.
Bring co-workers a special treat: Small surprises and tokens of appreciation throughout the year help people in the office feel valued all year long. Surprise co-workers with breakfast items, snacks or homemade treats.
Email a compliment: The next time you send an email to someone you work with, add a compliment. Acknowledging hard work, successes and other observations boost confidence and attitudes in the office.
Praise your co-workers: It’s always kind to thank your co-workers when they do something nice or offer their support. You can really go the extra mile when you acknowledge something that doesn’t necessarily impact you. Recognizing others for their achievements builds confidence and goodwill among all office mates.
Make your office or work space peaceful: By creating a peaceful and approachable office space you may just become the person others come to when they need to discuss a problem, share ideas or receive inspiration. Everyone needs a calm and inviting place to talk, including you!
Guide your business the Modern Marketing way
There is a difference between marketing to a business and marketing to a
consumer, believe it or not. Although you are still selling a product
to a person experience shows that the difference between these two types
of markets runs deep.
When you market to a B2B you will realize these businesses work hard to streamline the buying process in order to save time and money. This often explains why a B2B purchase is based more on logic and why a consumer's purchase is based more on emotion.
It is true that the cost of a sale for the business-to-business market is more expensive and typically higher than the business to consumer market. The easiest way to explain this is that a business-to-business transaction often takes more consideration.
Let me see if I can explain even further.
Marketing to B2B: When you are marketing to a B2B you want to focus on the logic of the product. You do this by focusing on the features of the product. There is little to no personal emotion involved in the purchasing decision. You want to focus on understanding the organizational buyers and how they operate within the confines of their organization's procedures. The B2B market has a thirst for knowledge and they are information seekers. Be more in-depth with your marketing materials. Your most effective marketing message will focus on how your product or service saves them time, money and resources.
Your business-to-business market is more interested in the logic behind
your product. They will want to hear more about the features and how it
will help them in saving time, money or resources.
Marketing to B2C: When you are marketing to a consumer you want to focus on the benefits of the product. Their decision is more emotional. Consumers are different in that they demand a variety of distribution channels for convenience, not so with the B2B market. Consumers are less likely to be interested in a lengthy marketing message. They will want you to get right to the point. Consumers don't want to work to understand
Your business-to-consumer market purchase more on emotion. They are more interested in the benefit of the product. They will want to hear more about how their product or service helps them and what benefits it brings to them personally.
For example consider this: My product is lotion.
My lotion will moisturize the skin and relieve itching skin.
If I have a B2B client they will be most interested in the feature of
the client which is moisturizing the skin. If I have a B2C client they
will be most interested in the benefit which is relief of itching skin.
We will be most effective in marketing if we understand what both markets need in order to make a decision.

Things Leaders do Last
Leadership is
contagious. What is modeled by leaders is mimicked by others. As you
build strong leadership habits, rather than thinking what could you do
first, consider the effects of what you do last.
Leaders Battle Last
“The greatest victory is that which requires no battle”
Leaders
navigate through conflicts and trials as though no problems took place.
They have to develop a big picture attitude. They see problems on the
horizon and handle them well before they hit the shore and do any
damage. They prefer solution over problem.
Leaders don’t
focus on where things are currently at, but where things will be
heading. You may need to change the course you are going.
Leaders Speak Last
They allow
others to give their opinion. They listen, understand, and acknowledge
all t hat is said. Leaders don’t just take everything on board, the
assess and weigh all opinions. Then, they speak last after they tie
everything together. Leaders know they can learn from anyone, but they
excel in making the right decisions with the best opinions. They are not
a dictator nor holding a democracy, good leaders have a perfect
balance.
Leaders Celebrate Last
The old sayings
will never die; nothing is over till the fat lady sings. Leaders don’t
take the pedal off the metal until they've truly crossed the finish
line. Leaders see things through a panoramic lens.
A sprint is pointless if you’re trying to run a marathon.
Leaders Hire Last
Leaders truly
know that anyone can look like a rock star on paper. It is easy to
dazzle in a dress, however it is far more difficult to get out on the
dance floor. “Don’t tell me, show me,” is what a real leader would say.
Quality will beat qualifications every single time.
Leaders Sweat Last
“Work smarter, not harder”
This however
doesn't mean hard work gets thrown out the window, Leaders work both
hard and smart. They always push for more, more productivity, more
efficiency. This by no means is them shying away from hard work, it is
smart work. Leaders also know how to maximize their strengths and
outsource their weaknesses.
Leaders get off the Ship Last
It is an
unspoken, but sometimes broken rule; the captain is the last to leave a
ship. The most tragic ship wrecks are those of which the captain is the
first to abandon his crew. A leader does not step into a role without
accepting the responsibilities, they know every decision they make
affects many lives, if they steer one way, the entirety of the ship is
also going that way.
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
