Best Places To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo In Detroit

Cinco de Mayo is a celebration held in Detroit and other cities across the United States each year on the 5th of May. It is observed to commemorate freedom and democracy from French forces in the Mexican state of Puebla. This is the time to honor Mexican-American culture. The festivities in Detroit are lively, and crowds take to the streets to enjoy the fiesta, which occurs throughout the day. The Detroit area has the largest Mexican population in Michigan, so it’s no surprise that Southwest Detroit, often referred to as Mexicantown, has an array of places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

The most distinctive event in Detroit every May is the Cinco de Mayo Parade, which is in its 48th year. This year, the parade will be held at noon on Sunday, May 6, 2012. The abundant outdoor seating offered is an excellent place to relax for a bit and people watch while sipping on a refreshing tequila-infused cocktail. Upcoming Executives!

One of the most difficult parts of reaching your goals or making positive change is pushing through discomfort. This is where a a lot of people give up - when the process inspires all kinds of challenging feelings. If you've quit your day job to pursue your passion and after six months you need to sell your car to keep going, a cubicle may appeal to you for the need of security. But maybe your will is strong enough to clear any emotional hurdles, but odds are that you have a voice inside your head saying "Go back. It's too hard. It's not worth it." Every one needs to remember that when your emotions get louder, challenge them with more emotions because that is exactly what all of our executives did and are continuing to do. Especially Micah Shaw, Morgan Couvillion, Kyle Redwine, and Ray Mallebay. These four executives pushed through the pain to build their success and we are waiting to see more growth that has to come with them being a part of our organization.

Independence Day!

Independence Day is also known as the Fourth of July, where July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941. But the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution from 1775 - 1783. In June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle weighed a resolution that would declare their independence from Great Britain. On July 2nd, the Continental Congress voted in favor or indepence, and two days later its delegates adopted the Declaration of Indepence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 until the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence with typical festivites from fireworks, parades, concerts, and family gatherings and barbecues.
Have a safe 4th of July weekend!

Prencis Chism Promotion!

Congratulations are in order to Prencis Chism on her wonderful promotion.
The one thing that has really helped Prencis Chism get her to her promotion was thinking positively. With a positive attitude, we experience more of a pleasant feeling that brings energy, brightness, and happiness to our eyes as well as success. So Prencis definitely shined through her days since she started just weeks ago. Positive thinking is contagious and Prencis has definitely brought her energy into our office by affecting the people who she would meet in one way or another. For her, it happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through words, thoughts and feelings, and through body language.
We are all so proud of you!

Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
When we think of Cinco de Mayo on May 5th, we often correlate the day with upbeat music, bands, salsa dancing, great food, and fun times. But we forget what the definition of the day may be. Cinco de Mayo translates to the “Fifth of May” in Spanish which is also known as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. Cinco de Mayo is a national holiday in Mexico that is celebrated for winning in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon. Now, there are many festivities to celebrate the occasion and usually occurs for a week. It’s good to remember the hard work behind the military that has fought for what they believed in and for what they wanted. We continued to do that every day, whether it’s going to school to receive our degree in something or to put 110% in at the office to make sure we get promoted. Make sure we all are going after our goals and dreams to be where we want to be.
Have a great celebration today and celebrate safely everyone!
